UNUSUAL ECHOCARDIOGRAPHIC APPEARANCE OF LEFT VENTRICULAR THROMBUS: DIAGNOSTIC VALUE OF MULTIMODALITY CARDIAC IMAGING
Keywords:
Left ventricular thrombus, ST-elevation myocardial infarction, Akinesis, Dyskinesis, Cardiac magnetic resonanceAbstract
We are presenting a highly unusual presentation of a post infarct left ventricular apical thrombus. The appearance of this thrombus was very consistent with a cystic structure, with a hydatid cyst being on the top of the provisional diagnosis. However, the clinical presentation of the patient prompted us to consider the fact that thrombi can present in many forms and figures, mimicking other cardiac masses.
