Abstract

Advances in medical technology have dramaticallyimproved one’s chances of survival in a number ofsignificant medical illnesses. Failed treatment ofacute trauma to trachea, complication of endotrachealintubation and tracheostomy tubes are the commoncauses of tracheal stenosis. Tracheal stenosis can betreated by LASER ablation, dilatation, endoscopicstenting1, T-Tube, segmental resection andreconstruction2. Repair of tracheal injuried ends withplacing of a stent through open neck incision afteracute tracheal injury in order to prevent trachealstenosis in future was a unique experience.
